Prescription Assistance Programs Can Help

Prescriptions Add comments

One thing just about everyone can agree on these days is that prescription medications are expensive.  Many people have chronic health problems that require prescription drugs to treat, and many of those people sometimes struggle to be able to afford them.

If you are uninsured or underinsured, there is help out there for you to be able to afford your medications and still be able to eat and pay other bills as well.  Prescription assistance is available for those who qualify, but a lot of people have never even heard of it.

So what is a prescription assistance program?  Basically, many pharmaceutical companies will provide their brand name drugs to patients who are low income and uninsured for free or a very low price.  This means that if you qualify for the program, you can get discount prescription drugs directly from their manufacturers, so you know that you are getting what you are supposed to.

Significantly discounted and even free prescription drugs can make a big difference in the lives of people who truly need them.  Prescription assistance programs partner patients with other programs and drug makers so that those who can’t afford their medications can get the help they need so they can live longer and healthier lives that keep them with their loved ones.

The process of getting into a prescription assistance program can be complicated with a lot of paperwork and ever changing rules for qualifications, so even though you can work directly with the pharmaceutical companies on your own, many people feel much more comfortable using an intermediary to help guide them through all of that.  You pay a nominal monthly fee to the program and they work with you and your doctor to get all of the appropriate paperwork filled out and filed correctly, and will even file an appeal on your behalf if for some reason you were to be rejected by your drug maker.

Having to take multiple prescription medications to improve your health is stressful enough as it is.  Add on to that trying to figure out how to pay for them and you have a mountain of stress weighing you down and making your health even worse.  Why subject yourself to all of that unnecessary stress when you can join a prescription assistance program that takes most of the work out of the process for you?  Now that you know you can pay a small monthly fee and get many if not all of your prescription drugs for free or at a significant discount, what are you waiting for?  It’s time for you to check out these programs to see if you qualify if you are struggling to pay for your medications because you will never regret it.
