National health is a much talked about topic these days. There are most certainly a lot of individuals and families in the United States who do not currently have medical insurance. With the way the economy is now, many people are no longer able to pay the added expense of health coverage. The fact that health insurance coverage has become so expensive only adds to this issue.
England is a country that participates in NHS health. This is the common name for four publicly funded healthcare systems in the United Kingdom. The NHS is called National Health Service in England, but the NHS Scotland, NHS Wales, and Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland are referred to as the HSC rather than being called the NHS. All of these organizations are independent and work with their respective governments. People who are citizens of these countries do not have to pay out of pocket to see healthcare providers, and the organizations help to track trends health related industries are experiencing.
According to those who survey health professionals and compile national health statistics, over 15% of Americans responding to a national health survey reported being without health coverage. This number is staggering! That means over 15 percent of the population of the United States have no type of medical insurance at all. One in every five people is not able to see healthcare providers unless they pay out of pocket. At the rates the average doctor’s office charges, it’s no wonder some people aren’t seeking medical attention when needed. They simply cannot afford to pay the bill, so they risk their health as a result.
Although health insurance coverage has been an impossibility for thousands of Americans, there is hope! With national health reform on the horizon, this will mean that medical insurance will be affordable for all Americans. By the year 2014, all Americans will have quality health coverage that they can afford. The people who now refrain from seeking medical care when in need because of financial reasons will be able to go to the doctor without worrying!
